About the West Kauai Visitor Center

In 1999 the West Kaua`i Technology and Visitor Center (Visitor Center), located in Waimea was dedicated: to tell the story of West Kaua`i, to celebrate its diversity; to provide a glimpse of its culture and people.  The program was initially directed at the visitor.  It was subsequently expanded to provide a Hawaiian cultural base as a resource for local families, school children, individuals, teachers and the community at large, as well as visitors.

The
Kaua`i Economic Development Board (KEDB) was established in 1984 to identify businesses opportunities that would provide incremental job creation and economic diversity while preserving the quality of life, cultural identity and natural resources of Kaua`i.
