 To Honor & To Perpetuate

Don’t miss this special event with Valerie Monson of Ka `Ohana O Kalaupapa, as the exhibit is unveiled and her power point talk of Kalaupapa, “Bringing the Families Home.”

Ka `Ohana O Kalaupapa was established in August 2003 as a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the value and dignity of every individual who was exiled to the Kalaupapa peninsula beginning in 1866.

“This traveling exhibit and talk will depict the compelling human history of an estimated 8,000 people who were taken from their families and forcibly relocated to Kalaupapa.  Their stories of survival, triumph and love remain the core of the Kalaupapa National Historical Park and will remain the core of the park even after the last of the residents has died” Ka `Ohana O Kalaupapa
